V1 Hd Camcorder video camera is a handheld HD camcorder. Not to be confused with Sony's HVR V1U, you will be surprised how closely this budget cam stacks up. If you were looking for the Sony V1 this isn't the article as it is a prosumer camcorder(a good one at that!), and we try to stick to the camcorders you can put in your pocket.
The Stack brand V1 HD is a rare gem that makes us happy to seek out the less known brand budget high definition camcorders that most would snub their nose at. This camcorder at only $145, is packing a punch of features to make most budget hd's jealous. However, it is not perfect.
What we love about this camera is the great 1080p, the absolute stunning night vision, and the contiguous video/photo shooting. Shoot sequence shots with a shutter as fast as 1/2000th of a second, and store it all on a 32gb SDHC card.
What we don't like is the poor digital zoom, with no optical zoom to make up for it.

FINAL THOUGHTS: The great 1080p, the absolute stunning night vision, and the contiguous video/photo shooting make this camera. Shoot sequence shots with a shutter as fast as 1/2000th of a second, and store it all on a 32gb SDHC card. A poor zoom, however, may be your make or break feature. Again, this is made up for with the long battery life due to a power saving mode.
