The Mitsuba HDC 505 is one of the stranger HD camcorders we've reviewed. But it does have its place among hd pocket camcorders, and many people enjoy it.
We almost didn't include this camcorder, because it is not a pocket camcorder, but we get many requests about it so we decided to review it anyway. Let us first state that it is not a pocket camcorder, and albeit small, is more of a Digital-SLR still camera body style. So that's the first con is it is not as portable as we would like, but that is maybe because we are bias and like a ton of features packed into a small package.
However, the Mitsuba still has many features that appealing. They include:

At its heart the Mitsuba is a few years old. It's high def is 720p, and could really be squeezed into a smaller package (see its younger brother the Mitsuba HDC-55 Review for a smaller pocket camcorder with nearly the same features). However, for most people it will do the job. It does have some redeeming qualities including a 270 degree turning LCD screen, 5 MP digital still pictures, and 2.5 inch LCD.
PROS: Cool swivel screen, can take lens attachments, 720p HD
Cons: Big, bulky, slow, and older features
Overall thoughts: If money's tight, this may be your only option. However, we recommend saving your cash for something a little newer, and a little more compact. As little as $50 more will get you something much nicer. And if you go used, you'll actually be able to snag something with more features. Yeah, it looks like a high-tech digital SLR, but the specs prove that its technology doesn't warrant its design.
