The Hitachi brand is known for unique products, but has always been overshadowed by the larger makers. With their new hybrid blu-ray hdd and dvd HD camcorders, that may change.
Hitachi camcorders have come and gone as have many of their products, as they are often ahead of their time. What I mean by this is Hitachi are big dreamers, but sometimes the technology just isn't there for the idea. Like the mv550e was one of the first DVD camcorders, but it just wasn't ready for the market.
But now, with advances in technology, and the ability to easily write or read from recordable media, not only has the DVD camcorder been possible, but also the blu-ray camcorder.
To knock things out of the park with an already solid product, they include a 30gb hard drive, and the ability to record to an external SDHC card. So, you have no excuse for not having the right kind of media to right to. I don't want to hear it!
Really with these camcorders, you could shoot the video, pop out the DVD or Blu-ray and immediately watch it on your TV, meanwhile uploading the video from the camera to your computer or even uploading it with provided software to Vimeo or Facebook!
