This full touch screen LCD camcorder is the envy of everyone everywhere I go. When people see it they have to stop and ask who made it. When I tell them that it is a Brica DV-HG1, they first crinkle their nose, give me a weird look, or lose sudden interest. They are amazed by its features and slick looks, but are afraid just because it is a brand they have never heard of.
This is too bad as the DV-HG1 is an amazing camcorder packed full of features you won't see on a name brand camcorder at this price.

Some other things worth mentioning. You've probably heard about the big Apple, Adobe debacle. How Flash is out and h.264 is in. Well, this may not seem like a big deal, or be way too technical, but just understand that if you plan to post your videos on the internet in the near future camcorder support for this is a must, and luckily this camera does provide it.
One con is the small zoom. It has a 5x optical and 20x digital zoom, which is under powered for a camcorder. Nowadays, most camcorders provide at least a 10x optical, but I believe the other features make up for this.
Some other features we like are low light compensation, super crisp 1cm macro closeups, simultaneous photo capture, and sequence shots.

Overall a very solid performing camera with similar name brands costing 3 times as much or more!
