Aluratek Ahdvc02f Cinecam Review

May 5th, 2010

Aluratek Ahdvc02f pocket camcorder has been compared to the Sanyo Xacti.  We were skeptical so we put it up to the test.  Read about this HD camcorder below.

Aluratek is most famous for their usb internet radio device, but don't let that fool you.  They know camcorders as well, and for a budget camcorder that shoots in high definition the AHDVC02F Cinecam is no exception.

First off, they decided to think out of the box with the pistol grip design, rather than the traditional horizontal design.  This provides the added convenience of putting this camcorder in your pocket on the go.  For some, however, the design feels awkward.  We love the design, only taking a minute to get used to, and preventing some unnecessary camera shake as seen with horizontal designs.

After we got over the impressive styling we moved onto the hard facts, as that's what matters.  It can look good as gold, but if it doesn't perform, we don't write about it.

We were pleasantly surprised with the features this camcorder had to offer.  Quality is excellent with the FULL HD 1440 x 1080 video quality capability, 8 MP still lshots, and a 60 Frame Per Second video.  It also carries a 2 hour lithium ion battery, which is about average for these type of camcorders.

The only things we didn't like were the smaller SD support, and the PAL support rather than NTSC, or preferably both as most camcorders provide.  No biggie for web video fans!
